why yet another meme
1. What does their bedroom look like?
On the Sunny, Zoro has one suspended bunk out of many. It's identical to all the rest. Blue blanket, built like a box with a mattress inside. There's lockers and a sunken table/benches in the room.
High Seas, he has a hammock among many. A very boring hammock. And a locker among various lockers and trunks.
Cerealia, he sleeps on the couch.
2. Do they have any daily rituals?
Not...particularly? In High Seas he does spar with Sanji in the morning after breakfast and tends to be the one taking first watch, but he doesn't keep a rigid schedule.
3. Do they exercise, and if so, what do they do? How often?
DUH. He lifts weights, does varieties of superstrength pushups (one hand, one finger, balanced completely vertical, etc) and situps (sometimes hanging upside down off the railing), and performs sword katas but with a heavyweight bar instead of swords. He does at least a little every day, and the more bored he is, the more he works out.
4. What would they do if they needed to make dinner but the kitchen was busy?
N/A. The cook cooks.
5. Cleanliness habits (personal, workspace, etc.)
Showers once a week, washes/towels off after workouts, usually brushes his teeth in the morning. May bathe additional times if bloody or after sex. He's a slob otherwise, tosses his clothes on the floor and usually will stay in the same outfit (day and night) for a week at a time if not longer.
6. Eating habits and sample daily menu
Whatever the cook makes. He doesn't insist on a large breakfast and can be content with only coffee, but if Sanji goes nuts, Zoro will eat it. He eats what's put in front of him and eats till he's satisfied, unless they're low on supplies and all the food needs to go to keep Luffy fueled.
7. Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting time
Napping. Followed by working out, drinking, and fishing in that order. He doesn't consider it wasting time if there's nothing else to actually be done (chores, lookout, whatever).
8. Favorite indulgence and feelings surrounding indulging
Booze. Loves it, no shame. In High Seas he also considers sexual exploits an indulgence, since he doesn't require it, and loves it with no shame but is more likely to forego it if it looks like indulging would cause a detriment. For example, needing to keep watch or protect the crew or entertain Luffy takes priority.
9. Makeup?
what.
10. Neuroses? Do they recognize them as such?
Not really. He's pretty stable.
11. Intellectual pursuits?
Never.
12. Favorite book genre?
He doesn't read books for fun.
13. Sexual Orientation? And, regardless of own orientation, thoughts on sexual orientation in general?
He has a very low libido but given the opportunity, he's bi. No preference one way or the other, he is attracted to strength and respect rather than body parts. He absolutely does not care about other people's sex lives either, and is entirely ambivalent.
14. Physical abnormalities? (Both visible and not, including injuries/disabilities, long-term illnesses, food-intolerances, etc.)
Blind in the left eye but that's about it. Never been sick, has no allergies.
15. Biggest and smallest short term goal?
16. Biggest and smallest long term goal?
17. Preferred mode of dress and rituals surrounding dress
Comfortable. He wears the same black pants and boots every day, same haramaki at all times. He likes to wear his shirts unbuttoned, but also likes t-shirts and tank tops. No rituals. Not including his bandanna, that's a fight ritual rather than a dress ritual. He also never takes off his earrings, ever. Not even in the shower.
18. Favorite beverage?
Booze. In order, sake, rum, ale, other hard liquors.
19. What do they think about before falling asleep at night?
Nothing, really. He's entirely chill and doesn't worry, doesn't revisit, doesn't imagine.
20. Childhood illnesses? Any interesting stories behind them?
Nothing as a matter of fact.
21. Turn-ons? Turn-offs?
Turn-ons: strength, swordsmanship, power, muscles, hands in his hair, touching his scar
Turn-offs: cowardice, submissiveness, large breasts, entering his personal space without being invited
22. Given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen?
The paper and pencil would remain untouched while he goes somewhere to take a nap.
23. How organized are they? How does this organization/disorganization manifest in their everyday life?
He manages to keep his stuff more or less in his locker, but apart from that, there's no organization.
24. Is there one subject of study that they excel at? Or do they even care about intellectual pursuits at all?
Does not care. At all.
25. How do they see themselves 5 years from today?
At the right hand of the Pirate King, sailing the seas in Luffy's quest to explore the entire world and visit every island.
26. Do they have any plans for the future? Any contingency plans if things don’t workout?
He only wants to become the world's greatest swordsman and stay by Luffy's side forever. If something catastrophic were to happen and Luffy were to be killed before fulfilling that goal, I don't know that Zoro would stay with the crew. It would be hard for him without his one reason for living, and he might take to the seas alone like he was prior to meeting Luffy, questing for his personal dream alone. But, he doesn't think about this because either they all live or they all die pursuing their dreams, there is no plan for in-between.
27. What is their biggest regret?
The uncertainty whether it's his fault, at all, that Kuina died. He doesn't blame himself but he does wonder.
28. Who do they see as their best friend? Their worst enemy?
Luffy is his best friend (though Sanji is a close second, even if he will never admit it or let the thought cross his mind). His worst enemy is the World Government, with the possible addition of Blackbeard's crew once they actually face up to those guys.
29. Reaction to sudden extrapersonal disaster (e.g. The house is on fire! What do they do?)
Moves in to do what he needs to do to save his friends, end the disaster, whatever. No thinking, just acting, being brave and bold and bullheaded. He's there for the crew no matter what. If it's something on an island where the crew visits that they actually have legit reasons for sticking their fingers into, same thing, though with less hardcore intent.
30. Reaction to sudden intrapersonal disaster (e.g. close family member suddenly dies)
No family, but if someone in the crew died? He would take it very hard. He would likely blame himself, if it came about as a result of a fight that he could have intervened in. Again, his life for the crew. He will sacrifice himself if he can, put himself in harm's way for them. If there's nothing he could have done, he would grieve appropriately (and deeply) but then continue on with the determination to live and pursue their dreams.
31. Most prized possession?
His three swords.
32. Thoughts on material possessions in general?
He doesn't really give a shit, unless it's something that has deep personal meaning to him - his swords, his bandanna, his earrings. In High Seas that includes his ring. He doesn't collect mementos and he doesn't seek out possessions. Clothes are expendable. There's no space on a ship for decorating or hoarding large amounts of personal items anyway, so if it's not something he needs (clothes, food, and booze), he doesn't bother. Even his weights fall into the category of necessity, but he can make do without them.
33. Concept of home and family?
Home is the ship and family is the crew...but not in a Whitebeard sense. It's more like nakama is nakama, they're closer than blood and he doesn't view them as equivalent to family members (brothers or otherwise), just nakama. He will give his life for them and support them eternally. His country is the sea and his house is the ship.
34. Thoughts on privacy? (Are they a private person, or are they prone to ‘TMI’?)
He's an extremely private person, in terms of his personal info. He has never told anyone about his past or where he grew up, and he doesn't share personal developments out loud. He values his privacy and will allow others to have their own.
35. What activities do they enjoy, but consider to be a waste of time?
None. Everything is exactly what it is. See above answer about wastes of time, geezus.
36. What makes them feel guilty?
Realizing that he has, unintentionally, harmed someone close to him. Whether physically or emotionally. Teasing his crewmates or fighting with Sanji notwithstanding - if he didn't mean to be hurtful but it was hurtful, he's apologetic.
37. Are they more analytical or more emotional in their decision-making?
Analytical and instinctive.
38. Would they consider themselves a Type A or Type B personality?
Neither?
39. What recharges them when they’re feeling drained?
Sleep. Booze. Mostly sleep.
40. Would you say that they have a superiority-complex? Inferiority-complex? Neither?
Neither. He is self-confident but only feels superior to people who are actually inferior to him.
41. How misanthropic are they?
Not very?
42. Hobbies?
Swords, working out, fishing.
43. How far did they get in formal education? What are their views on formal education vs self-education?
Basic childhood education (reading, writing, simple math). Doesn't care about formal education otherwise.
44. Religion?
Zero, zip, nada. He's an avowed atheist, though he doesn't care if other people believe in things.
45. Superstitions or views on the occult?
He believes in luck, both good and bad. Occult fits into the same umbrella with religions and gods.
46. Do they express their thoughts through words or deeds?
Actions more than words, though it's not to say he doesn't find words once in a while.
47. If they were to fall in love, who (or what) is their ideal?
Someone who treats him as an equal. Who understands his quirks and doesn't try to change him, who is willing to allow him his space and habits. Who can keep up with him, both in fighting and in life. Who he can likewise view as an equal in terms of power balance, interests, etc. They have to be a fighter.
48. How do they express love?
Actions, but not the typical ones. Looking out for the other, but not trying to do everything for them - protecting them when necessary and encouraging/backing them up when they can protect themselves. Spending quiet time with them. Doing something with them that they want to do (e.g. going shopping with Sanji, watching him while he cooks, etc).
49. If this person were to get into a fist fight, what is their fighting style like?
Muttoryu. He performs certain of his sword style moves but with his fists. Or, well, he also can just throw regular punches.
50. Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not?
No. He gave himself up for dead when he left home to pursue his dream, and is not afraid of death in the slightest.
On the Sunny, Zoro has one suspended bunk out of many. It's identical to all the rest. Blue blanket, built like a box with a mattress inside. There's lockers and a sunken table/benches in the room.
