Open RP log - Gen
This is the place to come to goof off, out of game context and just for fun. In-person interactions open to anyone who wants a piece of Zoro.
Fighting is a-ok! Shenanigans and a modicum of crack also welcome. Shippy stuff should be cleared with me first, via PM or Plurk. I don't really do AUs but Cerealia-setting is okay.
Some prompt ideas I'd like to play out:
- castmate interactions he hasn't gotten in canon
- OP-universe settings: at sea, dangerous islands, Marine bases, scene-between-scenes
- talkin' swords with sword people
- get him to open up about things like his past, his blades, what he did during the timeskip...
- drinking games
- nursing back to health
- angst. Yeah. Angst.

His idea of cooperation might be warped but it's what he knows. The marines scatter like bowling pins and the back wind from the slash worries his hair. Not bad at all! And voilà! The trap is revealed behind the routed column. The black mouth of a cannon faces the approaching Zoro (with Dellinger close behind), and fires. The corporal makes a dive from the duo as Dellinger, grinning, makes a chopping motion at the pirate, as if saying, "slice the cannonball in half or it's curtains for us." ]

He doesn't even pause for a second before charging the cannon muzzle itself]
Get that asshole, I've got this!
no subject
Ah, he's really booking it! Like he's off the hook or something.
[ Dellinger crouches, effortlessly picking up a spare cannonball off the ground with his hands. He tosses the iron baseball in the air, winds up and lands a crushing kick. The projectile hits the marine directly between the shoulder blades and he drops like a brick. Dellinger jumps and pumps his fist . ]
Bullseye!
no subject
[actually impressed! With a slow nod of approval, as he lowers his arms and takes a break, watching the Marines scatter like cockroaches in the light. One idle shove with his foot knocks the remnants of the cannon over and out of the road.]
You know they'll be back as soon as they find their balls. Or an admiral, same difference. [not that Zoro is terribly concerned about it] Think we can finish our playtime before they do?
no subject
[ Maybe both. Naturally he is ecstatic to test his mettle against an admiral but not so foolish as to think he'll survive such a perilous encounter with his freedom intact. Those guys have no stake in duels anyway, they would just swamp the town with their cadre and trap them in again—no thanks.
Zoro's different. Dellinger's heel rakes a crescent in the dirt as he assumes a fighting stance and eyes his scarred frenemy. The muscles in his legs tighten like ship cables. ]
Aren't we greedy? Well, come and get some!
no subject
It's not greedy if I just like finishing things I started. [likewise squaring his shoulders and moving to draw his third sword, because that way he can really let loose.] Just ask your soprano pal.
[Never too good to be an asshole. Zoro jams Wadou Ichimonji between his teeth, lifts the tips of the other two in a mirror of Dellinger's horns, and then charges, all set to unleash an Oni Giri as soon as he's in range]
no subject
[ While Pica is a formidable pillar of the family Dellinger isn't duty-bound to defend his crew's honor, but the slight still irks him in an abstract kind of way. Like he's expecting the giant to erupt from the ground and correct his offender, but the earth stays motionless. ]
Ah, here he comes! Are the gloves really coming off!?
[ Dellinger shimmies on the spot in mock fear, but underestimating Zoro he is not. Mid-way through the charge the boy suddenly assumes the stance of an Olympic sprinter, as a slick dorsal fin sprouts from his back. Dellinger leaps into a flying kick with the intent to strike Zoro so quickly he hasn't the time to swing. There's no telling who'll land the first hit when the two battle-mongers collide. ]

Dellinger growls and strikes the pirate square in the chest with his other foot while at the same time employing Zoro's sternum to kick himself clear of the blades. But there's simply too many! He's nicked in the air and sent sharply from Zoro's sight, the boy tumbling into a growth of shrubs with a shrill "Kyaaa!"
He jumps upright, glowering and shedding leaves. ]
Don't think you'll get me with that twice!!
no subject
Can't go for the face with me, then.
[it works on so many people, but yeah, santoryu. Just to be a dick he throws another Pound Cannon at Dellinger from a distance, figuring he'll dodge but at least it will get him out of the shrubbery.]
no subject
[ Yeah, he dodges the whirl of compressed air except the officer flips backwards even deeper into the growth of trees and out of sight. What emerges immediately after is a massive boulder flying at the ex-bounty hunter at speed, however before Zoro resolves to split the thing in two, the boulder explodes in flurry of heavy debris.
Dellinger had hidden himself behind the airborne boulder and struck it apart directly before the swordsman. He abruptly materializes from the dust and with his other leg follows up with a brutal Pistol Heel at Zoro's stomach. ]

Grunting, Zoro slides back with the blow and then twists his whole body to throw Dellinger off, the turn of his head bringing Wadou Ichmonji around as if to slash at him. It's clear to him by now that this is going to be a stalemate unless both of them actually act on the bloodthirst others think is always simmering just under the surface. He'd have to turn on the killing intent to really get the upper hand, and while he's not sure whether the half-fishman hasn't already done so, Zoro's had such a nice night already that he's sort of loathe to kill him. So, for a moment he holds ground, shoulders lowered, one blade outward, the other two crossed, as he considers how to end it without quitting. Quitting's for people with no pride!]
no subject
He paces a semi-circle around Zoro. ]
Are you stalling 'cause you got another trick up your sleeve? It'll be a bother if the marines intervene in your execution!
no subject
Just deciding how quickly to end it.
[Nah but a little bluffing helps. Zoro eyes him and his toothy grin, and then bulldozes his way in, chasing Dellinger down in order to unleash Crossing the Six Paths point-blank as soon as he's in range. It requires a twist, though, which means he can't keep his eye on his opponent the entire time. There could very well be a dodge or a counter-attack coming right at him, but it all happens so fast that everything is a blur of blades for a second or two. Nobody can even say exactly what it is besides six slashes from three blades, and Zoro cutting through his path without heed to taking damage in turn.]
no subject
Heh ... Heh, hello~.
no subject
His good eye flicks down to regard Dellinger and his taunt]
How you gonna get out of this without me taking your head off?
no subject
Why'd I wanna do that? I have nowhere to go.
[ His hand goes to his chin as he weighs something over, undeterred by the standoff. Dellinger snaps his fingers and his eyes dart to Zoro. ]
I know! We're both fugitives from the government, so take me with you!
no subject
That isn't up to me. Luffy's gotta say it's okay.
[on the one hand, all those people Dellinger tore to shreds are now Luffy's fleet captains. On the other, he probably doesn't care about the past. Then again, any lackey of Doflamingo's might not receive as warm a welcome as other pirates. Zoro really can't predict what his captain will say.
He mulls it over for a minute longer, still holding his ground.]
Best I can do is take you to him and let him have his say.
