more character questions

1. Who was the first person this character fell in love with?

No one yet. When I play or write him, it's Sanji.

2. What brings tears to this character's eyes? Do they cry when sad? When angry? When in pain?

Not much. Never in anger or pain, and only in grief in very particular situations. See previous meme answers about needing to be physically incapable of holding tears back due to extreme exhaustion.

3. Has this character had any past lovers? Who, if anyone in particular, and what happened?

No. At times I play him with the idea that at some point during his two years of wandering (age 17-19, before meeting Luffy) he at least got a first kiss, if not a full-on one night stand, just enough for him to decide what he didn't want out of it. But it wasn't anyone special, he wouldn't have even remembered their name.

11. Are they in love right now? Is it unrequited, or are their feelings returned?

Ssssssssort of. In Cerealia he's developing an interest in Sanji.

12. Is anyone in love with them? Do they know this, and is it requited?

No.

16. Do they wear any makeup or fashion accessories on a regular basis?

What no. The three earrings are not a fashion accessory, they're important to him.

18. If they were to have children, what kind of a parent would they be?

Terrible. He'd be worse than Yasopp, seeking his own interests rather than raising a family. Zoro has no reason to settle down and can't relate to children younger than, say, twelve.

19. Do they have any daily rituals?

Routine, yes. Ritual, no.

20. Addictions or bad habits?

Well, booze. I should have deleted this one.

27. Do they exercise, and if so, what so they do? How often?

Daily. He has a routine of weightlifting, push-ups, sit-ups, and other regular strength-building exercises. He'll go on for hours if there's nothing else to do.

28. What are their eating habits, and what's a sample daily menu of what they might eat in a day?

Zoro tends not to have much for breakfast, just coffee and maybe a small nibble but never pastries - eggs for sure if Sanji made some. Doesn't really care about lunch unless he's expended enough energy to be hungry, but it's more likely during the day he'd be up for a snack instead of a full lunch. Dinner is a thing, whether with the crew at home or just with Sanji in-game, and that's when he tanks up on all his calories. If he was alone in a game he'd be in trouble, he'd either starve or eat way too much takeout.

32. Is there anyone they admire? Who, and why?

Fighters who are stronger than him and he can aspire toward, and people whose strength of character strike him just right. It's complicated because that admiration is seldom more than a silent "huh. I can appreciate this person," not out and out worship or chin-handing. Zoro usually admires those people he would consider long-distance friends, potential rivals, etc - everyone from Vivi and Mihawk to Kyros.

33. How would they choose to make a living (regardless of actual careers)?

Oda says he'd be a police officer, but I don't usually see that in him. At least that's better than a Marine, it implies he's still interested in beating down criminals but not in a military sense, and he doesn't have the interest in justice to be a Marine. Bounty hunter is a good choice, less rules to follow.

34. How long would they last without human contact?

There was a time when he'd probably be all right for extended periods, but he's grown so used to the crew that he'd crave their presence after a while. Granted, his two years on Kuragaina meant the only human contact he had was Mihawk (occasionally, when he wasn't out doing his shichibukai thing) and Perona (who he can't stand), so it's likely he was still solitary for large chunks of time and he survived just fine.

35. Do they want children? If they have children already, do they want any more?

NO. HELL NO.

37. Is there anyone they miss or wish to reconcile with? Is there something they desperately want to ask?

When in a game without his crew, he misses all of them. He actually doesn't miss anyone from Shimotsuki, though someday he might like to go back and ask his sensei if he turned out at all like they expected. It's not desperate. He misses Vivi sometimes.

38. If they had to, which of the five main senses (sight, smell, sound, taste, touch) would they give up?

Probably sight since he's already had it impaired - he can use his haki to get around, like Fujitora. Though, the rest he could live without, he probably wouldn't voluntarily give them up.

39. Do they have any soft spots?

People who've been through tougher times than he ever has and came out stronger for it. He has a soft spot for Chopper sometimes. Zoro's squishy center is very small and buried deep beneath the prickly exterior, but certain people can find it easily, if they treat him with respect and understanding and allow him to be himself and open up in his own time and place.

40. Who would they want to have their last meal with?

His crew.

41. What do they look for in a lover?

Respect, equality, strength (of character and fighting ability), and the ability to pin him against a wall.

43. Above everything else, what is their worst fear?

Not being able to protect the crew, and even then, it isn't a powerful fear - it's far less scary than it used to be. He's much more confident in his ability now.

44. What was their childhood like? Did they have a good childhood, or was it more traumatic?

Depending on what Oda reveals of his past before the dojo, it was decent. One tragic incident but otherwise pretty good. It could be worse depending on what happened to his parents.

46. What do they think of themselves?

Zoro's pretty neutral. He obviously likes himself, he sees few flaws in himself, but his ego isn't that big technically speaking. He doesn't go around thinking about how awesome he is, he just lives and lets live.

47. Do they keep any pets, and what is their favorite animal?

No. He likes tigers and sharks.

48. Who were their parents, or who raised them?

We don't know! And I hesitate to speculate because Oda could very well be holding back a surprise like with Sanji. From age 10 to age 17 he was "raised" by Koshiro-sensei, though he seemed to be a pretty independent kid who just needed enough supervision to keep him alive and make sure he learned to read and write. There didn't seem to be a real parental bond between them, mostly an obligation.

49. Do others listen to them, and how do they react when disobeyed?

Mostly. Depending on who goes against his orders, he might snap in anger and then let it go, or he might simply sigh and go on with his day.
